Pretty In Pink Foundation Awarded Generous Grant from Searstone/Lutheran Services Carolinas to Serve Elderly Breast Cancer Patients in Wake County

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

[RALEIGH, NC] – January 25, 2024 —  Pretty In Pink Foundation is honored to be awarded a generous grant from Searstone Retirement Community and Lutheran Services Carolinas, continuing a longstanding partnership aimed at supporting elderly breast cancer patients.

This generous gift will help pay for lifesaving medical treatment for seniors who need financial assistance. Specifically, these much-needed funds will help remove the financial barrier to care for elderly Wake County breast cancer patients, paying for surgery, chemotherapy administration and radiation treatment.

“We are so incredibly grateful to have this continued support from Searstone/Lutheran Services Carolinas, which offers this segment of our community a greater chance of survival,” said Becky Horn, executive director of Pretty In Pink Foundation. “It’s heartwarming that Searstone is dedicated to not only providing exceptional senior living services, but also is actively involved in making a difference in our community.”

In total, the Searstone/Lutheran Services Carolinas Community Benefit Committee awarded grants to 14 organizations in Wake County serving seniors.

“This generous gift helps to ensure that this vulnerable population gets the financial assistance they need to access lifesaving medical treatment for breast cancer,” said Dr. Lisa Tolnitch, founder of Pretty In Pink Foundation. “We are so grateful for Searstone/Lutheran Services Carolinas’ support for the elderly in Wake County.”
